Discrimination on the grounds of race, faith, sexual orientation, disability or gender is wrong whichever way you look at it. No one with any clear conscience could suggest otherwise. However, that doesn’t mean to say that we as a society get to simply make outcasts of every organisation that we disagree with.
The issue of CARE and their internship at Westminster programme has once again reared its head. Some Liberal Democrats are calling for LibDem MP’s to withdraw their support from the scheme on the grounds that some of the policies that CARE advocate do not fit their beliefs. Thats all well and good and it is their right to disagree with the principles that CARE hold dear, but we are missing a key point here.
